2008 Audi A6
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2008 Audi A6 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A guy in Downtown Santee found me on YouTube before he ever needed a locksmith. He watched a video I filmed on an Audi key job, saw the actual tools and the actual car, and saved my number.

A few months later he called. His 2008 A6 had started giving him intermittent grief -- the remote signal had gotten weak and the flip blade felt loose at the pivot. He had already replaced the CR2032 himself, which was the right first move, but the remote range stayed short and the housing was visibly cracked near the hinge.

I met him in Downtown Santee and popped the housing open on the spot. The circuit board was intact and the chip was reading fine. The crack in the shell was the whole problem -- it was putting just enough flex on the board that the antenna contact was intermittent. Moved the board and chip into a new housing, seated everything correctly, and tested every button. Lock, unlock, the trunk release, and the secondary function button. Then I ran the ignition three times and walked the car to check range from a distance.

That was it. No reprogramming needed because the chip never lost its pairing. He paid a fraction of what the dealer had quoted him just for a new key, before labor. He already knew what to expect because he had watched the process on video before I ever showed up.
