2025 GMC Canyon
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2025 GMC Canyon Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out in the Brown Field Area, near one of the medical offices off Otay Mesa Road, a woman had a 2025 GMC Canyon and a story I've heard before.

Her last locksmith had no license number on the receipt, the phone number went dead about a week after the job, and the key stopped working not long after that. She told me she spent time on the BSIS website before she ever picked up the phone to call me.

She needed a spare fob. Not an emergency, just someone who actually knew what they were doing.

I showed up with the right fob shell already in my kit and the diagnostic equipment warmed up. The 2025 Canyon requires programming through the OBD port -- there is no ignition-turn sequence, no onboard add-a-key trick. You need a tool that speaks the GM security protocol, and you need to do it right or the vehicle security system rejects the new fob entirely. I ran the procedure, the fob paired clean, and I tested every button before I closed up.

She got a real receipt with a real license number. She told me the dealer had quoted her a wait of several days just to get a service appointment, then time on top of that once the truck was in the bay. She was back inside her office in under an hour.

The paper trail mattered to her more than the time savings. I get that. Both are real.
