2007 Honda S2000 Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a guy off North Broadway in Escondido. He had a 2007 S2000 stored at a self-storage facility while he was downsizing, and the key had been giving him grief for a while.
Not all-keys-lost, just enough weirdness that he was not fully trusting it. He had found me on YouTube months before watching a Honda key job, saw the whole process filmed at an actual car, and saved my number. When it finally got bad enough to deal with, he called.
He met me at the storage unit on a weekday morning. The S2000 was in good shape, clean, the kind of car you keep covered. He said he had been putting off dealing with the key because he was not using the car much anyway, but he did not want to get stuck without a working spare.
That is the part people wait too long on. One key, no backup, and you are one lost or damaged key away from a much bigger job.
I cut a replacement key blade to the vehicle and programmed the transponder chip on site. Tested the start multiple times, confirmed the immobilizer was reading it clean each cycle. The whole job was done in the parking lot, no tow, no dealer appointment, no waiting.
He mentioned what the dealer had quoted him. My price was a fraction of that. But honestly, what he kept coming back to was not the price. It was that he already knew what the job looked like before I showed up, because he had watched it. No surprises either way.
