His car uses a separate remote fob, FCC ID NYOSEKS-07TX, so the fob was fine. I just needed to cut and program a new ID46 transponder blade through OBD.
He was back on the road in under an hour. Total was $86. Dealer would have charged $191 plus a tow and a multi-day wait.
