I used my VVDI2 to read the transponder data from the broken key head since the chip was intact. Then I used my MAZ24 Lishi to extract the broken blade fragment without scratching the wafer surfaces. Once extracted, I decoded the lock and cut a fresh blade to exact depths. His remote, FCC ID WAZSKE13D01, was a 4-button unit that I rebuilt into a fresh shell with the salvaged chip.
No drilling, no cylinder replacement. His total was $234. The other locksmith wanted $409 or more. Destructive entry should be a last resort.
