I got a call out to The Cays in Coronado on a Sunday morning. The guy had already been burned once. A different locksmith had come out, charged him full price for a replacement Leaf fob, and left him with a car that would crank, fire for about two seconds, and then shut itself right back down. When the registration confirmed, I walked him through every button on the fob. Lock, unlock, panic, remote start, and the charge port release. All five working. Start with no cutoff. I turned the screen toward him so he could see the confirmed registration status himself.
He had already paid the first locksmith, and I could not undo that. What I could do was finish the job correctly. He told me the dealer quote was what pushed him toward a mobile locksmith in the first place. My price was a fraction of that, even as a second call.
