2011 Nissan Pathfinder Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A guy in Bressi Ranch called me on a Tuesday afternoon. He was in the parking lot of one of the office complexes off Palomar Airport Road, forty minutes from his next meeting, and his only key had stopped unlocking the doors remotely. The key still turned, the car still started, but the lock and unlock buttons were dead.
He had already done the thing everyone does: pulled the key apart, swapped in a fresh battery, and snapped it back together. Still nothing. He found me, figured it was worth a shot before calling the dealer.
When I got there, I opened the fob head on the spot. The battery was new but it was a CR1632, which is close but not right for this key. Slightly thicker. It fits, barely, but it puts just enough pressure on the contact that it can actually work loose and break the circuit. Swapped in the correct CR1620, seated it clean, and the buttons came back immediately. Lock, unlock, all of it.
He laughed. Told me the dealer had quoted him a full key replacement appointment, scheduled three days out, tow included if needed.
The whole thing took maybe twelve minutes in his parking lot. That is the job sometimes. Not every call is a full programming session. Sometimes it is just knowing which battery goes in which key.
