Once the broken piece is out, I can cut a new key by decoding the lock or matching the extracted piece. On the 2013 Venza, the replacement also needs the transponder chip programmed to the immobilizer before the engine will start, so that gets done on site in the same visit.

One thing worth knowing: the remote head key housing on these has a single plastic housing peg that a lot of owners have reported cracking over time. If the blade is snapped but the chip and remote are still functional, I can sometimes move the electronics into a new shell and cut a fresh blade, which costs less than starting from scratch. If the whole unit is gone or damaged through, it gets replaced and programmed completely on site. Either way, you drive away with a working key.
