2024 Toyota Venza
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2024 Toyota Venza Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was parked near the Brown Field Area in Otay Mesa when a woman called about her 2024 Venza. She had done her homework before dialing.

Checked my BSIS license number, looked at the Google Guaranteed badge, read a few reviews. Her last experience with a locksmith had ended with a receipt that had no company name, a phone number that went dead a week later, and no way to verify anything after the fact. She was not doing that again.

She needed a spare smart fob. The original was working, but she had exactly one key to a vehicle she depended on every day, and that felt like a bad position to be in.

I met her at the Walgreens nearby. She watched the whole job from the hood of my van, which I prefer. Nothing about this work needs to be hidden.

On a 2024 Venza, adding a spare smart fob is not a glove-box button sequence. The vehicle security system needs to be accessed through the diagnostic port, the new fob gets enrolled alongside the existing one, and you verify both are reading correctly before you close anything out. I did that, walked both fobs through every function, and confirmed the original was still registering clean.

She had a working spare in about 40 minutes. She paid a fraction of what the dealer had quoted her when she called them earlier that week. The dealer had also told her to bring the vehicle in, as if that is the only way the job gets done.

Real receipt. License number on it. Company van with the name on the side. That is not extra, that is just what the job is supposed to look like.
