Do you need to tow your 2000 Volkswagen Jetta to the dealer? Almost certainly not. For most VW models from the mid-2000s through the early 2020s, I handle all-keys-lost right at the car.

Total was $184. Dealer would have been $384 plus the tow. There are some very new MQB VW platforms where AKL requires bench access to the cluster or dealer-level online authorization.
