A vet assistant finishing a late shift somewhere off the main strip in Downtown La Mesa walked out to the employee lot close to 10pm. Her 2002 Jetta flip key would not turn the ignition. Not a dead battery. Not a bad fob. The blade went in and just sat there, stiff.

She tested the key herself before I packed up. Turned clean, started right up, remote functions all working. She was driving home within 40 minutes of calling me.
