VW immobilizers can be touchy about adding keys past the factory count, so the backup matters. Their Remote Flip Key, FCC ID NBG010180T, used a 4-button layout. I programmed the third key through OBD and tested it alongside the two existing ones to make sure all three worked.
Three drivers, three keys, done at the house in one visit. Total was $194. The texting about who has the key stopped that same day.
