Got a call from a guy near Shiells Park in Fillmore. His 2017 Giulia was sitting in the driveway, one smart key lost somewhere in the house, the other one cracked down the side with the battery door barely hanging on. He had been holding it together with tape for a month. Then the tape slipped and the CR2032 fell out in a parking lot, and that was it. "Key Fob Not Detected" every time.

I showed up with the blank, cut the emergency insert blade on the van, then connected to the OBD port under the dash to talk to the body control module. The Giulia uses Megamos AES encryption, so the pairing routine takes a specific handshake with the BCM. Programmed the new fob, erased the lost one from memory so nobody could walk up and start his car with it later.
Tested everything. Passive entry on both front doors, trunk release, push-button start, and the remote lock and unlock from across the driveway. All five buttons working clean.
He peeled the tape off the old fob right there and tossed it in the trash. That felt like the real end of the job.
