2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

Q: How do I know I'm getting the right replacement fob for my 2020 Giulia?

The factory FCC ID is printed on the back of your original fob. I cross-reference that along with the dealer part number before touching anything. Getting the wrong fob isn't just an inconvenience. It won't pair to the car at all, and you've wasted time and money. I verify the match before the job starts, not after.

Q: Are you licensed and insured to work on a vehicle like the Giulia?

Yes. EZ Car Keyz is licensed through the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, fully insured, and bonded. I'm also a NASTF Vehicle Security Professional, which means I've passed federal background checks and have authorized access to vehicle security data for jobs like the Giulia where the immobilizer requires credentialed access to service properly. BBB A+ rated and enrolled in Google's Guaranteed program as well. All of it is verifiable online.

Q: I lost both keys to my 2020 Giulia. Can new keys still be made, or does something have to go to the dealer?

All-keys-lost on the Giulia is doable without a dealer visit. It's not a quick job, but it's a complete one. The process involves clearing the existing key memory from the vehicle security system through the diagnostic port and enrolling the new fob or fobs from scratch. The old lost fobs get erased in that process, so they can't be used to start the car even if someone finds them later.

Q: My Giulia start button just shows a warning and won't crank. Is that a dead key or something else?

Could be a few things. First check: is the fob battery low? A dying CR2032 can cause exactly that symptom before it fails completely. Try holding the fob directly against the start button area when you press it. That's a known workaround when battery voltage is borderline. If that gets it started, replace the battery.

2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A woman in the Mountain Meadows part of Moorpark called on a Saturday morning. Her Giulia was sitting in the driveway, and she had one key left after her spare went missing weeks earlier. That morning the one remaining fob stopped being detected by the car.

She had already tried the fresh battery swap. It didn't help. The car was showing a key-not-detected warning on the cluster, and pressing the start button did nothing. She'd looked up a self-programming sequence online and tried it anyway. Nothing happened, because there isn't one for this system. That's not how the Giulia works.

I was at her place in Moorpark inside twenty minutes. The fob itself tested fine once I got a look at it with the right equipment. The issue was that her key was no longer enrolled in the vehicle security system, which can happen after certain electrical events or battery drops on the car side. The fix wasn't a new fob. It was re-registering the existing one through the diagnostic port and confirming the immobilizer accepted it.

Start button lit up, car started, warning gone. I walked every button and confirmed the car was reading the fob at normal range before I packed up.

She mentioned she'd called the dealer first. They told her to bring it in Monday and plan for a wait. She didn't have until Monday.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Mobile Service FAQ

Real costs, no dealer surprises

What battery does the 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia key fob take?▼

CR2032. It's one of the most common coin cells around and easy to find. When I'm on a job, I swap in a fresh one and then walk the full fob test: lock, unlock, and every other button, plus confirming the car is reading the fob at distance before I call it done.
