Got a call from a Stelvio owner over in the Bel Air Knolls neighborhood in Santa Barbara. He had one working key, and it had been acting up for weeks. The 2019 Stelvio uses AES-128 encryption on the immobilizer side, so programming a new KR5ALFA434 goes through the OBD-II port with a pin code read from the Body Computer Module. Cut the emergency blade, registered the new fob, and tested both keys across all five buttons plus passive entry on every door and the liftgate.
The whole thing took about 25 minutes once I was parked. He said the dealer quoted him over a week turnaround just for the appointment. I was done before his coffee got cold.
