Do you need to tow your 1997 Audi A6 to the dealer? Probably not. For most Audi models from the mid-2000s flip keys through the mid-2010s smart keys, I handle all-keys-lost right at the car. No tow. No dealer. No leaving the car somewhere for days.

Her total was 243. The dealer would have been 462 plus the tow. There are some newer Audi platforms with encrypted BCM2 modules where AKL requires bench work and takes longer. And a small number of the latest models are still dealer-only. But for the majority of Audis on the road, I do all-keys-lost on-site regularly.
