Cut the new mechanical flip key blank, programmed the Megamos AES transponder chip through the OBD port, and tested ignition start, door lock, and trunk release. About 35 minutes, start to finish.
She watched most of it from the patio with a glass of wine. When I handed her the spare, she just held both keys side by side like she was making sure they were real. No half-day appointment. No dropping the car off. Just the spare she had been putting off, done while she finished dinner, for a fraction of what the dealer wanted.
