Got a call from a flight attendant on a layover, sitting at one of the brunch spots in the Esplanade Shopping Center in Oxnard on a Sunday. I connected through OBD with my IM608, cleared out the failed key data from the botched attempt, pulled a fresh PIN from the immobilizer, and ran a clean registration with the correct security timer. Her fob, part number 8T0959754G, came back with all four buttons responding and a clean start. No two-second fuel cutoff.
She was quiet for a second, watching the dash. Then she just nodded, like she finally believed the car was going to stay running.
She had already paid one tech who couldn't finish the work. At least this time the job was actually done.
