A mountain biker in the Alta Mesa area of Santa Barbara lost his only key somewhere on a trail. He tore through his jersey pockets, his hydration pack, even walked the trailhead twice. Nothing. His 2009 A6 was just sitting in the dirt lot with no way to open it.
He had already called the Audi dealer. They told him tow it in, order a new key from Germany, wait seven to ten business days, then come back for programming. He was looking at weeks without his car.
I got to the lot and started with my HU66 Lishi tool on the driver door cylinder. The Lishi picks and decodes each wafer position inside that lock, giving me the exact bitting for a new blade without the original key. Once I had the mechanical cut done, I moved to the immobilizer side. Connected through OBD, pulled the SKC PIN from the cluster module at address 05, and ran the all-keys-lost procedure to clear the old key data and write the new Megamos 48 chip as primary.
His NBG009272T flip key was cut, programmed, and tested right there in the parking lot. Doors locked, unlocked, trunk popped, engine started. He stood there holding his helmet, staring at the dash like the car owed him an apology.
The whole thing took about 45 minutes. A fraction of what the dealer quoted in both time and money, and his car never left that dirt lot.
