A graveyard shift pharmacist in the Fremont Square Shopping Center neighborhood in Oxnard called me around 11pm. Her only key for the A6 had just died. Car was parked in the condo garage, and none of the buttons on the fob did anything. She had already pulled up dealer hours and tow costs on her phone and was doing the math on being carless for most of the week.

I got to her garage, popped the key shell open on the hood, and checked the CR2032 first. Dead flat. But even with a fresh battery the remote came back and the transponder side still would not authenticate. The Megamos 48 chip had given up. At that point it is an all-keys-lost job.
I connected my programmer to the OBD port, pulled the immobilizer PIN from the cluster module, cleared the old key data, and registered a new NBG009272T with a fresh TP25 transponder. Cut the blade to the HU66 profile on the spot. Tested remote lock, unlock, trunk, panic, then started the engine twice to make sure the immobilizer handshake was clean.
She stood there watching the car start like she did not fully trust it yet. I get that a lot at 11pm jobs.
The whole thing took about 40 minutes in her garage. No tow, no dealer wait, and she made her shift.
