2017 Chevrolet Traverse Transponder key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
He landed back in town, took the shuttle to the airport economy lot, and his 2017 Chevrolet Traverse wouldn't respond to the fob. He pressed lock and nothing happened. He pressed unlock and it was completely dead. His transponder key with flip blade was completely unresponsive and the doors were locked.

I was at the economy lot within 40 minutes. Once I got the door open, I connected my IM608 to the OBD port and ran a diagnostic on the immobilizer. It confirmed both his keys were still learned but the fob battery had died completely and the backup start procedure wasn't engaging. His flip key, FCC ID , needed a fresh battery and a resync. I replaced the battery, cleared the fault, and tested every function. He seemed pretty relieved when I told him the fix was that simple.
He drove home that same afternoon at 93 total. The dealer would have been 199 plus a $160 tow plus two days in a dealer queue. The whole thing took less time than the shuttle ride from the terminal.
