A call came in from the East End of Ojai, a neighborhood where parking is half driveways and half street, and nobody wants to be stuck either place without a working key.

The owner had one key left for his 2011 Traverse and had been meaning to get a spare cut for about two years. Then that one key stopped starting the car. It would turn in the cylinder, the engine would crank, and then nothing. Classic immobilizer behavior when the transponder signal drops out or the chip data goes stale.
