Guy flew back into Santa Barbara, took the shuttle to the economy lot near Goleta Beach Park, and his 2017 Chevrolet Traverse was just sitting there ignoring him. Press lock, nothing. Press unlock, nothing. The flip key with the OHT01060512 remote was completely dead in his hand, and the doors were locked.

I was at the lot within 40 minutes. Popped the door, got inside, and plugged my IM608 into the OBD-II port under the dash. The immobilizer diagnostic showed both his keys were still learned to the vehicle. The ID46 transponder in the key head was fine. His CR2032 had just gone flat, which killed all the remote functions and left him locked out since the Traverse doesn't have an exposed keyhole on most trims.
New CR2032 in, resynced the remote, cleared the communication fault, then walked every button: lock, unlock, hatch, panic. Tested the transponder start twice. He stood there watching the dash like he was waiting for bad news that never came.
He drove home that same afternoon. The whole thing took less time than his shuttle ride from the terminal.
