The dealer told him Wednesday. He needed it now. A diesel mechanic on his lunch break at the muffler shop in Oxnard had a 2017 Dodge Durango with a Fobik that stopped communicating with the truck. He knew enough about vehicles to know it was an immobilizer issue. He called the Dodge dealer and they said Wednesday appointment, then drop the truck, then wait for a callback. Three days out.

He fixes engines for a living. He wasn't losing three days over a key.
