Got a call one morning from a concrete finisher working a job near Oxnard Beach Park. His 2013 Dodge Durango would not start. He had a pour scheduled for noon, all his tools locked inside the truck, and the FOBIK was completely dead. Not a battery issue. The fob itself had failed. Access cleared. Programmed the fob, and then did the walkthrough: engine start, lock, unlock, panic, remote start. All five buttons. Doors from every handle. Dash was clean, no "Key Not Detected," no warning lights.
He was loading tools into the bed before his crew even pulled up. From my arrival to engine running was under 40 minutes.
The dealer quoted him a couple days wait and a tow. He needed it done that morning, on a dirt lot next to wet rebar. That is the part they do not cover at the parts counter.
