Then I decoded the existing lock, replaced the worn wafers, and cut a fresh key matched to the repaired cylinder. His remote, FCC ID , paired right back up through OBD. I showed him the old wafers so he could see the wear.
Total was 87. Ignition turns smooth again, key slides in clean, and he didn't replace a single part that wasn't actually broken.
