Got called out to Soule Park Golf Course area in Ojai. A plumber's 2025 Savana wouldn't recognize his only remote anymore. Started that morning when the lock button worked once, then nothing.
He popped the OUC60221 remote open right there in the parking lot. CR2032 looked fine, contacts looked clean. But when I opened it properly with my tool, the negative spring had that telltale green tinge. Common on work vans that see temperature swings.
I cleaned the contacts with DeoxIT, installed a fresh CR2032, then connected my Tech2 clone to the OBD port under the dash. The van's BCM showed the remote as registered but not responding. Quick delete and re-add through the Vehicle Theft Deterrent menu.
Four buttons tested clean: lock, unlock, panic, and the programmable aux button he used for his ladder rack lights. Range back to normal, about 60 feet on flat ground.
While I packed up, he mentioned the dealer wanted him to drop it off for two days minimum. For a working guy with jobs lined up, that's income lost on top of whatever they charge. We had him rolling again in under 30 minutes, right there at his first job site.
