A driver on the highway shoulder outside Thousand Oaks had his key snap in the ignition of his 2017 Hyundai Elantra. Half the blade was stuck in the cylinder and half was between his fingers. Once it was out clean, I decoded the lock from the wafer readings, cut a fresh blade, and programmed the transponder through OBD. His flip key, FCC ID SY5MDFNA433, was a 4-button remote. The fob was fine; he just needed the new blade and chip.

No drilling, no cylinder swap, no new ignition assembly. Total was 95. The other locksmith's approach would have been 200 or more. His original lock works with the new key exactly as before.
