I used my VVDI2 to read the transponder data from the cracked fob's chip, which was still intact inside the broken housing. That saved time because I could skip a full immobilizer reset. I extracted the blade fragment, decoded the lock, and cut two fresh keys. Her fob, FCC ID NYOSYEC4FOB1608, was a 4-button smart key that I rebuilt into a new shell with the salvaged chip and board. I showed her the chip from the cracked key so she could see it was still good.
She went from zero keys to two in about 40 minutes. Total was around 95. A full AKL without the broken pieces would cost more, and the dealer wanted 200 either way. If you still have the broken fob, bring it. The chip inside a cracked Hyundai smart key is usually salvageable, which makes the job faster and cheaper.
