Kia key programming isn't a dealer-only procedure. It hasn't been for years. The car's immobilizer checks the transponder chip through a coil around the ignition or through proximity antennas on push-to-start models. Programming means telling that immobilizer to accept one more chip code via a 6-digit PIN through the OBD port. I do it with a cable and a computer.
