Got a call from a guy out near Dos Vientos Community Park in Thousand Oaks. He had a 1999 Kia Sportage, the first-generation NB model, and his only key snapped clean off in the ignition cylinder.

He turned the key and the engine caught first try. Then he just stood there for a second, like he expected it to be harder than that.
The whole job took about 20 minutes, start to finish. No tow, no waiting on parts, no second appointment. He got a working spare cut at the same time so he would not end up in the same spot again.
