Downtown Ojai on a Sunday, there's a swap meet that spills across the lot near the main strip.
A guy there sells aftermarket auto parts out of a tailgate setup, knows his stuff cold when it comes to filters and sensors, but he'd convinced himself that key programming for his 2005 Sportage was a dealer-only job. He'd read something on a forum years back that stuck, and he'd been driving around with a dead fob and no backup for months.

Then I verified the ignition key still turned clean and confirmed the replacement fob was pairing correctly. He hadn't needed a new fob. He needed someone to actually look at the one he had.
He'd put off a dealer appointment for months over something that took less than half an hour in a swap meet parking lot. The dealer would have sold him a new fob and a programming fee on top of it.
