A chiropractor near Glen Tavern Inn in Santa Paula called me on a Wednesday. He had patients booked every 30 minutes until 5pm. His 2017 Sportage was sitting in his office lot, push-to-start completely unresponsive, and his remote flip key doing nothing when he pressed any of the four buttons.

I got there between his 1pm and 1:30pm patients. Popped the key open on his hood first. The CR2032 looked fine, seated correctly, contacts clean. So the remote side wasn't the whole story. I used my HY22 Lishi to verify the door lock wafers were good, then plugged into the OBD port and pulled the 6-digit PIN code from the immobilizer module. Reprogrammed the TQ8-RKE-4F27 fob back to the car's SMARTRA unit, tested all four buttons, ran the push-to-start cycle twice.
He walked out, saw the key on his desk by the front door, and just said "that's it?" His car never left the parking spot. The whole thing took maybe 20 minutes. He was back with his 1:30 patient on time.
Dealer would have meant a tow, a loaner, and days without his car. This was done between appointments for a fraction of what they wanted.
