Got a call from a guy near Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai. He had a 2008 Kia Sportage and his only key remote had quit on him weeks ago. He'd been manually locking and unlocking the doors since then, just living with it. I decoded his driver door cylinder with a Lishi KIA3, cut a fresh edge-cut key on the HPC Blitz, and programmed the Texas Instruments ID60 transponder through the OBD port using the vehicle PIN. Then I paired his NYOSEKS-07TX remote. Lock, unlock, panic, all three buttons confirmed in the parking lot.
He sat in his chair the whole time, watching me work on the hood of his Sportage. When I handed him the new key and he turned the ignition clean on the first try, he just nodded like he'd been holding his breath for a while.
