A young couple in Ojai, over in the Meiners Oaks neighborhood, had just bought a used 2003 Kia Sportage from a private seller. Good truck, fair price, one key. The seller told them getting a spare would be simple.

I used my VVDI2 to read the existing key's transponder data and clone it onto a fresh TP12 chip so the immobilizer recognized it without needing a full security reset or any PIN code from the dealer.
Cut the blade on the HPC 1200, tested it in the door and ignition, and watched the immobilizer light on the cluster blink and go out. Clean start.
They drove home with two working keys. That spare also means if they ever lose one, the next replacement is an add-a-key instead of an all-keys-lost job, which saves a good chunk down the road.
