2018 Kia Sportage
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2018 Kia Sportage Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A woman in the East Area 2 neighborhood of Santa Paula called on a Monday. She had lost her only key to a 2018 Kia Sportage, and she needed her car that afternoon to pick up her kid from school.

She had already called the dealer. They told her they would need to order the key, that she would need to tow the car in, and the earliest they could look at it was later in the week. She did the math and realized that was three days of arranging rides, and she was not interested.

I pulled up to the apartment complex that afternoon with the right flip-key blank already in my bag. Cut the blade to her vehicle, programmed the key through the OBD port, and ran through every function before I packed up. Lock, unlock, and both of the remaining buttons, then started the car twice to confirm the transponder was talking correctly.

The whole thing was done before she needed to leave. She saved a good chunk compared to what the dealer had quoted, and she did not spend three days arranging rides.

That is the job. Show up with the right part, do it right the first time, leave when it works.
