Mazda key programming isn't a dealer-only procedure. It hasn't been for years on most models. The car's immobilizer checks the transponder chip through a coil in the ignition or proximity antennas on push-to-start models. Programming means telling the immobilizer to accept one more chip or fob code. I do it through OBD with a cable and a diagnostic computer.
