A Cardiff-by-the-Sea resident called me on a Tuesday morning after the one fob he had for his 2016 Focus stopped being recognized overnight. No warning, no gradual weirdness. Once the programming confirmed, I walked everything: start button, door lock, door unlock, trunk release, all five buttons. Then I had him try it himself from across the driveway to confirm range was solid.

He made it to work that morning. A little late, but he made it. The dealer would have had the car sitting in a queue until Friday.
