2014 GMC Acadia Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A woman in Loma Alta reached me on a Tuesday afternoon. She had two keys for her 2014 GMC Acadia, lost one somewhere in the house, and wanted a spare cut and programmed before she ended up with none. Sensible thinking.

She had already called the dealer. They told her to bring it in, said they would need the vehicle for a couple of hours, and the price they quoted made her hesitate long enough to look for another option. That is when she found me.

The 2014 Acadia uses a transponder key, so there is a chip embedded in the key head that has to be enrolled to the vehicle's immobilizer before the engine will run. I decoded her existing working key, cut the new blade to match, then ran through the programming sequence at the OBD port. The Acadia accepted the new key on the first attempt. I handed it to her, she turned it over a few times, started the car, and that was it.

The whole thing was done in her driveway in about 35 minutes. She tested both keys before I packed up. The dealer comparison came up on its own when she said she wished she had called a mobile locksmith first instead of sitting on hold for twenty minutes to get a quote she was going to walk away from anyway.
