2019 Honda HR-V Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call on a Saturday afternoon from a guy stuck in the parking lot off Campo Road near Casa de Oro.
He had been out near the water, set his fob down somewhere along the way, and by the time he noticed, retracing his steps turned up nothing. One key. No spare at home. His 2019 HR-V was right there and might as well have been a locked vault.
He had already called the dealer. First available appointment was Tuesday, and that assumed they had the part in stock, which the service advisor could not confirm over the phone. He asked about a tow. They told him he would need to arrange that himself.
I told him I could be there that afternoon.
When I pulled up, he was sitting on a curb in the shade doing that thing people do when they have accepted the situation but still hate it. I got his door open mechanically, decoded the blade, and cut a fresh one on site. Then I plugged into the OBD port and ran the all-keys-lost sequence. That procedure wipes every previously registered fob from the vehicle's memory -- including the lost one -- and registers the new key as the only authorized entry. His new fob started the car clean on the first try.
I cut him a second key before I packed up. He drove home from that same lot with two working keys and without waiting until Tuesday. The dealer comparison came up on its own -- he mentioned what they had quoted him. All I said was that he saved a good chunk.
