1997 Honda Prelude Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A man near Kearny Mesa called about his 1997 Honda Prelude. He walked with a cane, lived in an independent living complex, and his daughter was out of town. His one key's remote had been getting unreliable, and he wanted a spare cut before the whole thing failed on him. Getting himself to a dealer was not a casual trip, it was a real logistical problem.
I drove out that morning and met him in the parking lot.
The mechanical side decoded fine from the lock. I cut a fresh key blade to match, verified it turned clean, and confirmed the transponder enrolled correctly. Then I paired the replacement fob and tested every button. He watched the whole thing from just outside his front entrance without having to load into a car or arrange a ride anywhere.
Before I left, I showed him where the battery sits in the fob and how to tell when it is getting weak so he would have a heads-up next time instead of a surprise.
He had a working spare, knew how his remote worked, and never left the property. The dealer quote he mentioned was nearly double what I charged, and that was before factoring in how he would have even gotten there.
