2011 Infiniti Ex35
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2011 Infiniti Ex35 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A dad at a gymnastics facility near Coronado Shores called me about his 2011 Infiniti EX35. The fob housing had developed a visible crack at the corner where the key blade pivots out, and he could feel it flexing when he gripped it. He wasn't locked out yet. He just knew it was coming.

The problem was the schedule. His daughter had practice four days a week, meets on weekends, and he was the only one running her around. He called the Infiniti dealer to ask how fast they could turn it. They told him to drop the car off for a few hours. He explained that wasn't going to work. They didn't have much else to offer.

I met him in the parking lot at 4pm while his daughter was in the gym. The fob electronics were still intact inside the cracked shell, so I transferred the internals into a fresh housing, verified the battery contact was seating cleanly, and tested all four buttons. Lock, unlock, the trunk release, and the panic button all came back solid. The key blade got cut to the vehicle. No programming needed since the original electronics carried over intact and the car already recognized them.

The whole thing wrapped up before his daughter walked out. He was back to being a reliable ride without ever leaving the parking lot.

The dealer option would have meant a part order, a wait, then a separate shop visit. He saved a good chunk and didn't lose a half-day he didn't have.
