2000 Infiniti I30 Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Coronado Shores is one of those spots where I show up and immediately feel like I am on a film set. High-rise condos right on the water, salt air, residents who have owned their cars for twenty-plus years because they just do not drive that much.
This call was a 2000 I30 sitting in the parking structure. The owner had a working key but wanted a spare after going years without one. He told me he had tried a hardware store copy once before and the car just cranked and stalled every time. He assumed the copy was cut wrong. It was not. It was programmed to nothing.
I explained the difference on the spot. The blade gets you into the door and turns the ignition. The chip inside the key head is what the immobilizer is actually looking for. A blank metal copy with no chip, or a chip that was never registered, gets you a crank-and-die every time.
I cut a replacement key blade to match his vehicle, programmed the transponder to the immobilizer, and confirmed it with three cold starts back to back. No stall, no hesitation. Clean every time.
He said the dealer had quoted him a wait and a number he did not want to hear. We did it in the parking structure, in about forty minutes, for a fraction of what they wanted.
