I got a call from a woman over in Coronado Village, just off the main stretch near the water. She was hosting guests at a property she managed and the M56 she used for airport runs was stuck in the driveway. Her Intelligent Key fob had taken a drop at some point, the shell had cracked along the seam, and the buttons had gotten soft and unreliable. One of them had basically stopped registering.

I transferred the electronics into a fresh replacement housing, reseated everything clean, verified all four buttons were registering properly, and walked the full range test. Then I decoded the blade and cut a new one to match, because the original had a chip in it from the same drop.
She saved a good chunk versus the dealer quote. More than that, she didn't have to tow the car anywhere or wait for a service appointment. The whole thing was done in her driveway while she was on a call inside.
The board was fine. The chip was fine. She just needed someone willing to look before replacing everything.
