2010 Jaguar XK Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

It was past 10 on a Tuesday night when the call came in from an office park off a quiet stretch of road in Buena Creek, Vista. A tax attorney had lost her only fob to her 2010 Jaguar XK. She had gone through her office, the conference room, the parking lot twice. Nothing. Filing season. Exhausted. Zero backup.

She didn't have her registration in front of her and wasn't immediately sure where the VIN was. I walked her through it on the phone before I even loaded my van. Look through the windshield, lower left corner of the glass on the driver's side. She found it with her phone flashlight in about thirty seconds. Then I had her check her insurance app, and her registration info was right there.

With the VIN I already knew what I was dealing with before I arrived. I loaded the correct fob blank and had my diagnostic equipment ready for an all-keys-lost procedure on this system. When I pulled up, she was sitting on a bench outside, still in work clothes, looking like she'd been there a while.

I got into the vehicle, connected my equipment to the OBD port, read the key module data, and generated a fresh key file. I programmed the new five-button fob in the parking lot under my work light. Then I tested every function before handing it over. Lock, unlock, trunk release, the emergency blade in the door cylinder. All of it.

She drove home that night. The VIN she found with a phone flashlight was the thing that made the whole job clean. That and having the right equipment already loaded.
