A wine collector at a vineyard estate outside Coronado needed exactly that. He texted me his GPS pin. I drove out with everything for his XK already loaded. I used my ACDP to read the KVM EEPROM as a backup before programming. His fob, FCC ID , was a 3-button smart key. When I opened it up, the antenna board was damaged from moisture. So I swapped the chip to a fresh fob and programmed it on-site. He was pretty impressed it could all happen next to a barrel cave.
His car started on that vineyard gravel. Total was around $95. A dealer would have charged $200 plus a tow from a vineyard no flatbed was reaching easily.
