2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
The San Diego Country Estates area of Ramona is a long stretch of road with not a lot of options when your car decides to be uncooperative. That's where this one landed.
She was coming out of the eye doctor on a Wednesday afternoon. The Outlander started fine that morning, but by the time she finished her appointment, the fob was acting up. Key-not-detected on the dash, push-button start only working when she held the fob directly against the button. She'd already done the battery swap. Fresh CR2032, correct install. Still flaky.
She called the nearest Mitsubishi dealer. Monday was the first opening. She commutes daily and the Outlander is the only car in the house. Monday wasn't going to work.
I was there Wednesday. Ran diagnostics, confirmed the fob itself had developed a fault. Programmed a replacement key on site, tested every function before I packed up. Push-button start reading clean from across the center console, touch unlock working at both front handles, all four buttons confirmed.
She asked what the dealer quoted. I told her to call if she ever needed to compare. The point wasn't the number. The point was Wednesday, not Monday, and the parking lot instead of a tow.
