2002 Subaru Outback Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
There's a dog boarding facility out near Bressi Ranch, and one of the regulars there found me on YouTube before he ever had a problem. Watched a Subaru remote replacement, saw the whole process, saved my number. Smart move.
He called when his 2002 Outback remote started getting flaky before a vacation drop-off. Not dead, just inconsistent. Lock worked, unlock was hit or miss, and the range had shrunk to about three feet. He knew enough from the video to already have a fresh CR2025 in it. Battery wasn't the problem.
I met him at the facility. The fob shell itself had a cracked contact board from years of keychain pressure, the kind of thing that reads fine on a bench but opens up under the small flex of real handling. I cut a replacement blade, transferred the transponder, and programmed the new 4-button remote on site. Tested every button. Did three clean starts in the parking lot and walked the remote range out to the facility gate to confirm it.
He was back inside checking in his dog before the job was fully packed up. He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a wait and a number he wasn't happy with. My price was a fraction of that, and he didn't have to leave the car anywhere.
