A customer at the mosque lot in Spring Valley told me he'd already been burned. Another locksmith charged him full price for a 2011 Subaru Outback key that never programmed correctly. The car would crank but the immobilizer killed fuel after two seconds. Classic failed IMMO learn. The other locksmith said the module was bad and left.

I cleared the failed key data, ran a clean IMMO learn with the full security timer, and confirmed the new key was permanently written. His fob, FCC ID CWTWB1U811, had all 4 buttons working plus a clean start. I showed him the confirmation screen.
He paid me $185. Dealer charges $395. He'd already paid the first locksmith too. But I could make sure it was done right this time.
