In Heritage Valley, Fillmore, a retired surgeon called me from the medical plaza parking lot on a Tuesday morning. He had a cane, his aide was off that day, and getting across town to an Audi dealer was not just inconvenient, it was a real problem he could not solve by himself that day.
His 2010 R8 had one key. The flip blade had been getting harder to turn for a few weeks, and that morning it finally fought him badly enough that he did not trust it to make the trip home. Then I cut a fresh blade to match, transferred his existing transponder chip into a new flip shell, and rebuilt the fob with a fresh CR2032 while I was in there. The remote, lock, unlock, all three buttons, tested clean.
He watched the whole thing from a bench about ten feet away. When I handed it back and he turned the ignition for the first time with zero resistance, he just held it there a second like he was confirming it was real.
